I bought mine last summer on Amazon from DGP. It even shipped for free under my prime benefits. The price has gone up considerably since I bought mine. I love it. I mow only about 2/3 of an acre. But I use it to run down to the lake and what not. It still gets alot of looks from neighbors and people driving by. I used the generator several weeks back during a power outage to run the fridge and a freezer. I do wish it had a 220 plug. It would eliminate my entire need for a generator.
I hope this has the true durability that a decent tractor/mower should have. I did buy a square trade extended warranty. Hopefully I never have to use it.

One thing I forgot to add, has anyone had any issues with the deck height? Without the deck on it is extremely difficult to move the lever. I'm guessing there is a heavy duty spring in there to make it easy to raise/lower the heavy deck. Make no mistake that deck is hefty.

One thing I forgot to add, has anyone had any issues with the deck height? Without the deck on it is extremely difficult to move the lever. I'm guessing there is a heavy duty spring in there to make it easy to raise/lower the heavy deck. Make no mistake that deck is hefty. I bought my Raven last year, and yes, I mow with mine all the way up. I purchased mine from DR Power Equipment because they had listed on their website that they had 3 service centers close to me. (Within 30 miles) Well, 2 weeks ago, I pulled the Raven into my garage, and all was fine. 2 days later, I went to use it and it would not do anything. After calling DR Power, it seems they do not have any techs trained to service the unit. That was the only reason I purchased it from them. So I called Denver Global, and they arranged for a service call from their technicians today. After 30 min, they figured out it was a bad contactor, and it damaged the main control board because it shorted out internally on the coil side. After they replaced both items, it fired right up with no more problems. 1 hour total time. They were professional and even left me a new air filter. It is not needed yet, but I have it when it is. Kim in support has sent me a cover, and a new seat because mine had split a a wierd place showing it was not my fault, but a bad piece of leather. Now my Raven works like new and looks good too. I am very happy with Kim and Mary in support for taking care of this so quickly. Oh, and Mary sent me a copy of the service manual so I can troubleshoot many of my own problems in the future. Just to let everyone know, the service techs did tell me they had not seen a contactor take out the main control board like this before. They had seen contactors go bad, on the contact side, and seen a coil quit working, but not an internal coil short that took out the control board. Because of this problem, I decided after they left to add a fuse to the coil side of each contactor so if it does happen again, it will not have the chance to damage the main control board. If anyone needs a copy of the service manual, (that has a wiring schematic) I can email it to you. My email is 14paul@gmail.com I admit, I did not expect to have this problem with less than 8 hours on the motor/generator, but I am glad the problem was found and fixed so quickly. Denver Global stood behind their product even though DR Power Equipment was unable to do anything even though they were under contract to do so. I will tell friends about my experience with Denver Global and I will not send them anywhere near a DR Power Equipment purchase for any item. What good is a company that does not stand behind the items they sell. If it we're not for Kim and Mary, I would have had a very expensive battery pack with flashlight. Good Job Kim and Mary at Denver Global. Paul

Oh, I forgot to add, the service techs that Denver Global sent to work on my Raven, were from home office in North Carolina. Again, I have been impressed.

I've had my raven for a year now. 16hours on the motor. I had bought it direct. I recently ordered the knobby turf tires and 4 extra air filters. It was $593 shipped with NYS taxes. The tires come with the rims. It's a very nice upgrade. The machine is much more stable and goes through my mud patched hills with very little slippage as opposed to getting stuck in the mud (that was a nightmare). With these tires it is a bit harder to steer when going slow because of the greatly improved traction.

I just mowed with my Raven for the first time today (it finally dried out enough to mow and it going to start raining again tonight) and all I can say is, IT'S A BEAST! The grass was fairly tall with sone dense clumps that were still really wet but the Raven just mowed through it and the lawn looks great. Hopefully DGP is going to produce an upgraded Raven with a generator that has a 220 Volt output, the aggressive tires that are an option now, a deeper cup holder (I'm always loosing drinks when I go over bumps on the farm), and maybe increased deck height when not mowing.

I purchased my Raven in Aug of 16. Love it so far. Has anyone installed a choke controller that can be operated from the operators seat? I picked up the cable and lever and plan to install it soon. Looking for ideas on where to locate the control.
Thanks

I have used mine in the winter and I only used the choke for just a minor part of that. The choke location doesn't bother me.

When you say it quit moving all together while in gas mode, did the gas engine continue to run or did the engine quit completely ? I just bought the camo raven, asking about the gas engine, I have zero use for the mower deck. I just wanted to tow stuff and use the generator. I don't know who or where to ask about charging the 48v batteries. normal charge happens in the mowing function, I need to hack into the generator charge system without the mower. now I apply the e brake start the gas engine, turn on the generator switch put in gear and release the brake. and the motor dies. Can I cross a brake wire or disconnect a wire to stop it from dying. help the old wazzo

geez you are fast, thanks.
I read that I was to run the gas engine for 30 minutes, to charge the 48v batteries. I think this is a waste if true. I want to use the raven without mower. at the same time I want to change the 48v. simple because the gas engine is running the generator only. so you say with the gas engine running, gen switch off the 48v batteries are charging?

yes . u dont need 48 volts if u r useing mower for generator only . i run on silent running when im not moweing an am going some wear to use generator , . yes gas engine will charge 48 volts and starter batt., but external battery charger keeps sys full charged , just dont hot rod in silent mode n mpv will last u , when im dun then i externally hook up 48 volt charger , which keeps sys fully charged, but not starter batt u need seperate charger for that . till next time. luck dwight

If all of you don't know it the Raven is the mower Titanic! The company is all but defunct, has given up its' production space in NC, is only providing minimal warranty support today. Kim and Mary are gone. There is a woman named Amber taking calls today if you will stay on the phone 30 to 60 minutes. they cannot refer you to a facility for repairs, warranty or your own nickel. My 48 v batty pack is out (early April) and I finally was told this week that the battery warranty is only 1 yr AND the price of the batty went up last month from 160.00 to 300.00. Women and children first!!
