I am considering purchasing the 7100 from Lowes, it was a return and the problem was the charging system. They say it was repaired! Ok so here's the question: The unit has 25 hours on it and the back of the seat is torn around the stitching, I can live with that, I need input as to whether it's a decent deal? $2500.00 plus I get 5% off with the Lowes card. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd snatch it up for that price. Seat is no big deal and as long as the charging system is fixed its good deal.

Just checking to see if anyone is still using this forum. How are people getting along with their machines?

Pretty rare I get on here, but so far so good with mine. Ready for a snow blade. Will be buying the bagger this spring. Just welded up a reciver hitch on the front bumper. Works ok but need to reinforce the frame.

well its been a year now, still very satisfied with the machine. fired it up at 17degrees f this winter it lit rite off . easy on easy off is great for this old guy. i use the generator a lot, no problems there . i dont use the high range its a lawn mower, this spring i had a question on the battery pac, kim at raven sent me new complete battery pac assy, no more questions on that. the local farm n fleet apparently no longer sell the machine. havent checked any wear else. i think raven is in a fight with briggs n stratton . im guessing a internal fight is going on. ck the local paper history in south carolina. thats it for me feel free to question me about the 7100 i think it will b around a long time dwight

Hi All,
Does anyone know if raven is still in business? My son bent a suspension part on my 7100, and i've spent 2 days on hold trying to get in touch with them to order a replacement part. I've even tried Denver Global's office, and had no luck.

They have had lots of issues with the 100amp deck fuse blowing on the MPV7100. Sometimes just replacing the fuse is all thats needed and other times the entire deck motor or wiring is fried requiring a complete deck replacement. To me, If Your deck motor blows the 100amp fuse, clearly something in the deck motor is not designed correctly and has a problem. They are well aware of this and looks like they are now sending replacement decks out at the drop of a hat. If their customer service continues to stand behind this until they get it figured out then great, if not, I see them going in the toilet within the next 24 months. Who would pay another grand or so for a deck after 2-3 years of use? They seem to be working with people right now so lets hope it continues.

I have a 2 year old 7100s where the deck went out as in my other post. Apparently either the left deck controller or motor went out which in-turn took out both blades from turning. Called Raven on Friday and factory Tech called and showed up today. These guys looked like some NASCAR pit crew, replaced the whole deck assembly , air filter couple nic nacks I neglected and in 20 mins were gone. Now, I myself am in the service industry and can tell you this is very impressive! My machine is 2 years old and I've run the hell out it. This is the only issue on mine (and pretty much the only issue on any of the MPV7100 series,. It's a known problem and they are very much on top of it. I could only be more impressed if they contacted me prior to it going out! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE from Kim in the care center to the guys who just left here! AAA plus service! I'm looking up their company stock ticker now!

I have read several posts stating that the customer support was great. This has not been my experience I have had several issues with my Raven, when I contacted raven my calls were either not returned or returned days later, I have yet to have an email answered. When I finally did speak to a tech I was told I would have to take it to a service site 3 states away. Currently I am sure my 48 volt battery is failing and I dread calling raven and dealing with the run around I am sure to experience.

Call the Lincolnton NC office, ask for Mary or kim, 1-888-321-5700 or 704--665-1748. Keep us posted if that's really the problem or some charging issue. As I understand it, the 48 volt pack can only charge by running the engine for couple hours or using the BC48 48 volt charger. One of the seat fuses controls the 48 v charging. On the other hand, batteries don't last a lifetime.

Hello Raven-MPV forum, My Raven-MPV 7100s was delivered Friday 8-26-16 and have been studying the manual and any information I can find on the internet. The Raven I purchased is a model without the mower deck however I plan on purchasing the deck, bagger and the mulching plug. I did let the generator run with the generator switch off per the manual to charge the batteries for about 1 hour. I seem to have a issue with running on electric only in which it won't stay at speed in this mode. It will lose power and won't continue motion until I let up on the accelerator. Wondering if the batteries are charged fully or batteries are faulty? May possibly be the motor controller? Anyone have any idea's. I will call DGP Monday to place orders and ask about resolve of symptoms.

Bought my Raven last August (2015) and all went well for the first year. I then had a problem similar to the one identified in the "engine overheating thread" and after replacing the 48 volt battery, both blade controllers, and both blade motors all is well. I replaced the individual parts myself as there was a fairly long wait time for a complete deck. The unit is reasonably easy to work on especially the mower deck.
When I replaced the deck components I replaced all of the fasteners with stainless steel. Just a personal quirk. I have used the generator portion extensively for running a limb saw as well as an electric tiller. Since I remove the deck fairly often to clean the underside I made a subtle change to the lynch pins which hold the deck to the lift arms. I ground a chamfer on the end of each of the pins which will allow the pins to go into a misaligned bracket/lift arm. This has no adverse effect on the support for the deck it simple make mounting it easier.

I just bought a used Raven. Only 10 hours on it. I cannot get it to operate without the engine running. It operates properly with the engine running but I want to use the electric "atv" to get to the deer blind this season. any ideas?
