Has anyone else done the electric mowing mod as shown in this video? I imagine it could take a hefty toll on the battery pack doing this all the time, but for some light mowing it would sure be nice. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR5-Jc7rESE&t=22s

Doesn't appear to give you the info you need to do it though. My battery pack gives me the battery light when just in electric mode so I'm sure it's on the way out. I'd love to do a swap on some better (aka new) batteries since mine were already a year old when DGP sent it to me.

There are several relays under the seat; one of them is the safety interlock for the deck power, the two small red and black wires running through the middle of the Anderson Power Products deck plug. If the contacts of this relay are jumpered (pin 30 to 87), the deck will run anytime.
BUT, DO NOT BYPASS THE SEAT SWITCH, LEAVE IT IN THE CIRCUIT, FOR YOUR OWN SAFTETY!!!
The danger is the mower blade protrudes out from under the metal deck surface at the discharge chute! ALWAYS LEAVE THE DISCHARGE CHUTE IN PLACE!!! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AREA ON THE MPV.
You are right, running the deck on battery is extremely draining, but it is very easy. If a person installed larger deep cycle batteries, it would be perfect.

Thanks @gt40! That worked like a charm. Now I just need to upgrade the battery pack so it can actually work for more than a few minutes. Contemplating a custom Li-Ion build.
