Hey, everyone. I purchased my raven new in July, 2016, and have been having an issue almost from inception in which the power cuts out going up hills in hybrid mode only. It’s fine on flat areas in hybrid mode and I never have an issue with the gas engine running. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thx.

Is the low battery light coming on? Have you checked controller/contactor connections to make sure everything is tight?

This happens to me when the 48v battery pack is low. You'll see the battery inidicator light come on the dash when going uphill. My 48v batteries rarely seem to charge well from just running the generator. Getting the 48v charger and plugging it so the pack charges fully will let me run up and down the hills for a good while before that cutout starts to happen.
You'll also notice the Raven limiting it's own speed down hills when the battery pack is charged (no need to brake). If it's not charged, it will just barrel down full speed so watch out for that.

Most likely this is a weak 48v battery pack. While the voltage may be showing good it takes a considerable amount of amperage to move all the weight up a hill compared to on level ground.
Similar to starting a car. The voltage might show good but as soon as you try to start in the voltage drops way too low.

Any idea which "end" or plug the battery pack charger needs? It's one of the plugs, I just don't know the size.

Use connector through the gen panel BC-48-2000-29
or you could buy the ring terminal type and connect directly to the 48v battery terminals
