Getting cool here in North Georgia, still using the Raven some and it has 42 hours on the meter. Wanted to do all the service & maintenance on her and was also thinking of pulling the battery pack. Raven born on date is 10/13/15, so the batteries are at least two years old. Is it worthwhile to pull them and check levels and individual voltages, connections etcetera? Are the batteries sealed units? They are not giving me any trouble. Advice and opinions please.

I believe they are sealed. At least it looked like it when I took my pack off. I mainly blew out the debris and made sure all of the connections were good. I mulched leaves last Friday for the last time hopefully since we got a couple inches of snow on Saturday. I'll pull the deck off and clean it up and probably be leave it off for the winter. New starting battery, contactors, and PCB board it's running great.

Mine is running great after a replacement Raven, multiple BMC's, replacement carburetor, replacement deck, and service techs here 5 times in a year. Finally under control. Took the deck off during the 10 inch's of snow last week and had a good time. A week later we still have some snow on the ground. Unusual.

Can anyone tell me a good way to keep both 12 & 48 batteries topped off without worrying about overcharging, etc. Thanks.

I leave my chargers hooked up and charging unless I use the Raven on gas frequently. My 48 volt charger shows red when charging, green when battery is topped off and then shows green for trickle/maintainace charge. Both have been in use for the last couple of weeks. If you have the "Raven" charger you should be ok. If something else, recommend reading their instructions. Nowadays most chargers are smart enough to go to trickle.
Your location and Raven date of birth (part of serial number after MPV7100)? Mine is 101315. I'm in north Georgia.
Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the reply, mine appears to be 11/20/14 and I bought it new in Apr. from a dealer in Tx. no idea it was 3 yrs. old! But got it cheap. Their info is lacking on charging regimes. My concern is the 12v charger, i doubt it has a trickle / float regime built in to that little charger! My 48v has red & green lights...you would think if it has 3 modes, red is charging, green charged, and flashing when it's trickle. No manual came with charger. Thanks again and Happy New Years.
