i was doing some close quarters corner mowing with my Raven, got in a tight spot and had the steering wheel cramped. Started to turn back around and the steering slipped a cog or two. My fault, didn't realize it was binding. Only issue now is the steering wheel is not aligned (easy fix). I have been considering changing to a larger steering wheel to make it a little easier to turn, need to rethink this I guess.
Forty two hours on her meter since the end of May. Probably an additional 20 or more on just battery.

Denny, Did you ever do anything to the steering? Last week while mulching up some leaves I got into a spot and it had it pop a couple of times too. I've tried to be semi-meticulous on making sure it has grease on the gears.

I have not made any physical changes. I avoid turning too tight, try not to lock. Sweeping corners, three point turns. (Love the RMO). Occasionally still get a slip and will dismount and pull the wheels straight a bit. I have been thinking about removing the rack, elongate the mounting holes and pushing it back maybe 1/8 inch or less, making it tighter to the pinion. Hell of a lot of work for an iffy fix. The pinion has rounded off wear, the rack not so much that I can see. Unit is showing 655 hours, plus probably 30-40 hours of 48V only ops.

I have the steering shaft if interested. Might have just the gear on the shaft separate but would need to look.

I found on frame lower half separated from top half and gear wasn't going mid point on flat sprocket. Once I close up to half's upper and lower frame found it was only welded a spot and it broke loose I took off all the plastic nose around it and foully welded it all the way around the frame on the left and right side steering solved. I beat they welded them all the same way to save money.

I would but been put back together and painted my health wont perment it at this time. When they tell me what is wrong with my lungs and a fix and weather gets better. But just look at gear on steering shaft it should be middle of flat gear if not bet it split apart the to hafts If you have a break down of frame you will see upper frame and lower one.
