The middle of last year the Raven while in battery mode would surge and stop then surge again until finally it would not function at all in battery mode. However it continued to run, both drive and mower deck while the gas engine was running but weakly. I assumed it was the 48volt battery going bad. Spring this year I replaced the 48v battery with new battery. Out of curiosity I load tested the old battery and found out it was actually OK. I checked the new battery it was also OK so while the old one was fine I went ahead and replaced it anyway. The new battery had a partial change when I installed it and the mower worked a short while in battery mode (minutes) this after running 2+ hours in gas mode mowing the lawn. Once again unit still will not work in electric mode. The Raven service manual states that a 75 amp fuse could be responsible for these symptoms however this fuse is not user serviceable. My problem is there is not a shop in my area (I am talking hundreds of miles) that will even touch a Raven. So if anyone has ever replaced this fuse on their Raven or has any other ideas I would like to hear about it. Thanks…….

The manual suggests the fuse might be blown.
