Generator receptacles don't produce power even though the correct steps were followed to switch on the generator mode. Any ideas or steps known to decipher the issue? The rest of the machine works great. The generator worked fine up until now. I did notice a blinking symbol on the left-hand side of the hour meter that I believe has not always been there and/or blinked. What does the blinking mean?

Go to the back of the unit and remove the plastic cover. At the top there is a rectifier (see attached)
Start the unit (deck and generator off) and measure the voltage from A1 to A2 and then B1 to B2. Send me an email at shawnee28021@gmail.com and let me know what you find.

How best to measure the voltage?

Use a volt meter to measure DC voltage.

Use a volt meter to measure DC voltage. Stupid question, I know, but what location is best to place the multimeter probes? Should I remove the wiring and test? Kinda tight. Not getting a stable reading for A1/A2. B1/B1 is measuring 13.

You will see A1, A2, B1, B2, + and - on the rectifier in the picture. Start the unit with the deck and generator off.
Put one probe on A1 and the other on A2, measure DC voltage. Do the same for B1 and B2. Should be getting around 48-52v. If not, you have an issue inside the generator most likely that needs to be diagnosed.
Send me an email as I am not on here often now but do check email.

Mine just went to local shop not charging the 48 volt pack while the blades ans wheels rolling but yet it still will put out full 110 volts of power. iiuse it 6 years this is the first time I was no longer find the problem. I did find the brushes on generator easy to pull out but at 70 plus I really don't need to guess at it any more. Plus thinking would the brushes charge only the 48 volt side and do nothing for 110 volts.

But then maybe no one is reading this forum anymore?

Reading now Crawford. Just coming out of hibernation. I don’t have an answer for your problem, let us know what it turns out to be. Mine is running fine, worked it over pretty good late fall.

Did anybody think to check the brushes and end of unit. Mower will not start in gas mode so as I was replacing the started figured I would replace the brushes. Still nothing on the generator nor gas mode. Electric mode is great.

gas engine has nothing to do with generator. Are you saying engine is turning over won't start thats one thing. or it won't turn over that's another.
