Last couple of times I was mowing at night I would see the battery light come on when I "mashed the gas". I'm mowing so the generator is running. It only seems to come on when I put in for a surge of power. It wasn't like the unit had been sitting not running for a while. I don't know if I would have noticed the light had it not been dark out. Is this a sign my battery pack is on its way out?

I have a similar issue of the battery not charging very well. It also has issues when I mash the gas (going up hills or towing) with not very much power. IT wasn't like this when I first got it. This is the second summer I've had it. I've read to just leave the mower running idle for 30 min and it'll charge. I do that and the battery light goes off, but the next time I start it like a week later the charge is gone again and I'm back to square one. Anyone else having issues with the battery?

If you have not pulled the battery pack out and checked/filled water level and checked connection, start there. Also a 48 Volt Raven charger would be a good investment. The battery pack if fairly heavy, be careful. Charge the batteries (12v) while out.

I mowed Friday and let it run for 20 minutes or so after. I checked voltage at the plug and it reads 52 volts.

DGP sent me a new PCB and two new controllers. Per DGP, install everything at the same time, not swap out one component then check to see if it works. I guess a bad (or going bad) controller can mess up the PCB board. So swapped it all out over the weekend. Ran it picking up leaves for probably 35 minutes. Went to "electric" mode and had the battery light come on almost immediately. I'll have to let it run longer just sitting there. I still have over 48 volts on the battery pack at the grey connector though.

When running on the batteries, my light will come on when I accelerate up a hill, normal I guess. Everything is a little over two years old (10/13/15), 40.1 hours on the meter. I have had this replacement unit since late May (6 months). I do use the 48 volt charger often just because. Just checked cold iron voltage at the gray connector, 52.9 Volts.

I'm at 35 hours before I did the leaves last so close to 36 now I would assume. I forget the dates on my battery pack tho. I know I bought it in 2016 but I think they were 2015's. Starting battery was 2014.

It's definitely charging. I'm guess that 4 year old batteries are the problem.

Replacing batteries with a unit that is not properly charging is just a waste of money. Need to verify status first and then replace if all is good. Battery light tells you nothing about the charging and it is just triggered by a diode that turns the light on once the battery reaches a certain voltage level.

Well every one may be different but mine went I removed seat cover under seat. All plastics around the whole unit the front panel where the electric plugs are mover it out of the way as far as can be. then look down at end of generator end cover has to come off look inside and see a 1/2 moon shape unit that is the voltage regulator. Remember if you didn't do the other test you may be wasting your time it may be something else.
